Recruitment process at Taunton's

We have tried to make our recruitment process as straightforward as possible.  The exact details will vary depending on which position you are applying for, but as a guide the whole process from application to offer is likely to take 28 days in total.  Typically the selection process will include a half day pre-interview assessment and a formal interview with the selection panel.

We encourage people to apply for any position which they feel they’re suitably qualified for and generally we receive large numbers of applications.  Unfortunately that means we are only able to contact shortlisted candidates.  If you haven’t heard from us within 28 days of submitting your application, please assume that on this occasion you have been unsuccessful.

  1. Positions are advertised in the press, online and on the College website for 14 days
  2. A shortlist is drawn up within 10 days of the closing date
  3. Shortlisted candidates are invited to a pre-interview assessment and/or formal interview
  4. Assessments/interviews take place
  5. The successful candidate will be notified within 5 days and a provisional offer will be made in writing
  6. Reference checks and other pre-employment checks are made
  7. The successful candidate can now start work
