Ben Dolbear
BTEC National Diploma in Sports, coaching, development and fitness.
Formerly Priestlands School
Taunton’s Players Player of the Year for rugby
Tottonians RFC
“One of the main reasons to choose Tauntons College was because I felt like it had the best opportunities for me. I felt that I could achieve as an individual because you could make the most of the teachers time. I found that at a lot of larger colleges students are seen as more of a number rather than an individual.
The highlights of my team here have been winning the Hampshire Bowl with the rugby team and taking part in the expedition which was part of our outdoor activities unit for my course.
Although I have got a National Diploma in Sport I am now heading down the agricultural path and am hoping to study a degree in Agriculture and Farm Management at the Royal Agricultural College in Cirencester. In ten years time I would hope to be managing an arable farm, either in England or New Zealand.”
Chloe Nkomo
A levels in History, English Literature and Religious Studies
Formerly Applemore College
Taunton’s Sportswoman of the year
Applemore Netball Club
“I came to Taunton’s because of the excellent sporting reputation it has and also because of the friendly, welcoming atmosphere I immediately felt around the college.
The highlight of my time at Taunton’s has to be being part of an excellent netball academy, which provided me with the opportunity to receive excellent coaching from Jo Bull and also meet some amazing new people that I will be friends with for a long time after I leave. The sports dinner was also a highlight and a nice end to my two years at college. The camaraderie and friendship I have gained from the sports academy has got to be the highlight of my time at Taunton’s and is the thing I am definitely going to miss the most.
I hope to go to Cardiff University to study English Literature and Philosophy and hopefully find a career that I enjoy doing and will still be playing netball of course.”

“I came to Taunton’s because of the excellent sporting reputation it has and also because of the friendly, welcoming atmosphere I immediately felt around the college.

”I came to Taunton’s for the sports course and because I knew Taunton’s had an amazing basketball team.

I am Hoping I can get a full scholarship in the States for basketball at McKendree University and in 10 years time I would like to see my self either playing basketball at a really high level or getting involved in sports teaching and coaching."
